All I wanted to do this morning was write down a few things about Alice's surgery yesterday. Do you think I could decide where to write it? Of course, I couldn't. Does it go in Journelly, Day One, Denote, Apple Notes, Bear, DEVONthink, Tinderbox, TiddlyWiki, Howm, or some new place I haven't even thought of yet? They are all great places to put things, but I shouldn't be using all of them at once. So, where should my note about Alice really go? Two places. First, my Denote (Org mode) note for Alice. I already have a long "Log" datetree with existing history. Second, it should go in Day One. I have more than 5,000 journal entries in Day One, going back to 2011. The "On This Day" feature is golden, and printing books from my journal was awesome, while I still did that. I don't know why I keep wanting to put notes in other places. I guess it's mostly because I like playing with the apps. I should stop doing that and just put everything in Emacs first.

Wow, have I done things in the wrong order. First, after my app fiasco, I reinstalled all my apps on the Mac Mini. Then, I decided to move to One Computer, so I got everything caught up and moved to the MBP. Then, I ordered a MacBook Air to replace the MBP, and you just know I'm not going to migrate things from the MBP. I'm going to set it up from scratch like I always do. Waste time much, Jack?
