Playing around with Ghost themes
A nice benefit of using things like Ghost or WordPress for a blog is that it's easy to switch to a new theme, and there are lots to choose from.
I don't like most Ghost themes. They tend toward the HEY, PAY ME! vibe. I just want a simple blog theme. I was using Journal, which is nice and super simple. A little too simple, maybe, so I started poking around looking for something with a bit more to offer.
One theme I've had on my list is Kyoto, but I didn't feel like paying $89 for it. I saw that it was on sale for 30% off, so I pulled the trigger. As of right now, November 24, 2024, this blog is running the Kyoto theme. It has a good set of features and does most things the way I want them, right out of the box. So far the only thing I've overridden are the too-think link underlines. I'm sure I'll tweak more stuff as I go, but it's a good theme, so I'll run with it for a while. I should probably hide that obnoxious Subscribe form, though.
